July 13, 2026, marked an exciting day for the Coalition for Women’s Brain Health, as Coalition for Women’s brain Health  members gathered in London during the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), the world’s largest annual gathering of Alzheimer’s and dementia researchers, clinicians, and professionals.

Coalition Steering Committee members Dr. Rachel Buckley and Dr. Roberta Brinton joined Sandy Gleysteen, who produced a timely conversation on women and Alzheimer’s, “What We Know, What We Don’t, and Where the Future Lies,” as part of the 2026 Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) Symposium.

The conversation was moderated by journalist and women’s health advocate Maria Shriver, founder of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement at Cleveland Clinic. She was joined by Dr. Joanne Pike, President and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association; Hilary Evans-Newton, CEO of Alzheimer’s Research UK; and Dr. Rachel Buckley, Associate Chair of Research in the Department of Neurology and Associate Professor at Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. The event was hosted by Maria Shriver, WAM at Cleveland Clinic, and Cleveland Clinic London.

The candid conversation explored the progress being made in understanding women and Alzheimer’s disease, while also examining the important questions and gaps that remain. The discussion underscored why this is a hopeful moment in the field and the continued importance of advancing research and advocacy to change the story of Alzheimer’s disease for women.
